How were people chosen to participate?

I wanted a range of people in ages, race/ethnicities, gender identities, and early life SES.  Using a variety of community-based outreach methods (thanks to the *many* who helped!!!), I spread the word about the study, then enrolled respondents for life history stories if they helped build the range of items listed above.  Anyone not doing a life history was referred to the focus groups.  Key informants were chosen from my knowledge of local service providers and the recommendations of some of those providers.
