Issue

Increasingly men who have sex with men are using the internet to arrange sex.  The anonymity and widespread contacts available on the internet create new vectors of transmission for sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV.

Response

This phenomenon has led many HIV agencies to start online HIV education and outreach programs.  These programs are received well, are low-cost to run, and allow a much deeper level of connection with individuals when compared to traditional HIV education activities.
